Social Studies salutes 5th grade teacher Mrs. Holly Brewer at Odom Elementary
Ms. Brewer integrates social studies into reading and writing. Her students make connections from their work to their own life. When Ms. Brewer's students were studying the colonists period of U. S. history, students commented that in the future people will be studying them in their time period. Students read a book on the colonists, then created a report by summarizing in their own words what they had read answering a preselected question. They drew pictures to add visualization to their project. Excellent job 5th grade students!
