STRATEGIES

Students should have daily opportunities to talk and write about what they read and hear each day, using formal academic language. The ELPS provide strategies to support teachers and students in attaining this goal. The ELPS outline the instruction school districts must provide to ELLs in order for them to have the full opportunity to learn English and succeed academically. The ELPS are to be implemented as an integral part of the instruction in each foundation and enrichment subject of the TEKS.
