COLLEGE BOUND
Most activities of the Immigrant College Access Program are focused on students at the 12th grade, due to the reality that so many students arrive to their Senior year with very little knowledge or guidance about their opportunities to access a higher education, or about how to get there. The Immigrant College Coordinator follows a rotating schedule of campus visits that is based on the size of the immigrant population at the various high schools. Most activities at the high schools occur with the assistance of the Project ADVANCE college advisor and the counselors, who assist the Immigrant College Coordinator in distributing call slips to students and making sure she has a place to work with students. In most schools this place is the College/Career Center if there are computers available, and if not, the library or a computer lab is used.
